Meet Rachel Grace, our year-long intern! She joined the camp crew at the start of November 2024.
Rachel Grace comes to us from Spokane, Washington and has been working the last ten years there in the food service industry. She was involved for many years at North Church as a youth leader to middle school girls. She also volunteered in local programs in Spokane with people with disabilities. In 2014, she first volunteered at Camp Daniel with students from her youth group in Chicago and instantly fell in love with camp and the loving environment it offers to the disability community and has been volunteering almost every summer since. Rachel Grace is passionate about the disability community and is learning ASL this year as well as wanting to be an advocate to the disability community. She will be leading many events around camp, assisting in coaching Special Olympics in the community and much more!
The missionary aspect of being a year-long intern constitutes a significant component of her growth and experience during this period. At Camp Daniel, all staff members are dedicated missionaries to individuals with disabilities. Similar to many missionaries, Rachel Grace will be seeking to raise $1,700 in monthly financial support to cover expenses such as rent, food, transportation, and other essential needs. She humbly requests your consideration for financial support, whether it’s a contribution of $10, $20, $50, or $100 per month. Your generosity will play a pivotal role in enabling her to fulfill this meaningful mission.
