Meet Lydia, our year-long intern! Her internship with the camp crew started in May 2026. Lydia started coming to camp when she turned one, and has come every year since! She grew up as a camp kid, did three summer internships with Camp Daniel, and is excited to be a year-long intern! Lydia’s dream is to open a coffee shop that employs individuals with disabilities, and this is the perfect opportunity for her to learn and grow!
In her role as an intern, Lydia will reside with fellow staff members in the upstairs of the Hartley House. Her responsibilities will include assisting with hosting guest groups, facilitating Weekend Getaways and summer camps, coaching Crivitz Special Olympics, and maintaining the camp’s buildings and grounds.
The missionary aspect of being a year-long intern constitutes a significant component of her growth and experience during this period. At Camp Daniel, all staff members are dedicated missionaries to individuals with disabilities. Similar to many missionaries, Lydia will be seeking to raise $1,500 in monthly financial support to cover expenses such as rent, food, transportation, and other essential needs. She humbly requests your consideration for financial support, whether it’s a contribution of $10, $20, $50, or $100 per month. Your generosity will play a pivotal role in enabling her to fulfill this meaningful mission.
