Meet Eva, our year-long intern! She will be joining the camp crew at the end of August. Eva’s camp journey began in the summer of 2022 when she volunteered as a counselor. She instantly developed a deep affection for the ministry and desired greater involvement. Over the past year, she actively participated in our Weekend Getaways, workdays, and multiple weeks of summer camp. Now, she has taken a significant leap by becoming a part of the camp family as a year-long intern.
In her role as an intern, Eva will reside with fellow staff member Ruth Hucek. Her responsibilities will include assisting with hosting guest groups, facilitating Weekend Getaways and summer camps, and maintaining the camp’s buildings and grounds. Moreover, Eva will actively engage with the Crivitz Special Olympics, The Hub Student Ministry, and The Mix Community—a disability ministry at Green Bay Community Church. Throughout these endeavors, she will gain valuable insights into non-profit work, disability advocacy, leadership, and the essence of being a missionary within the disability subculture.
The missionary aspect of being a year-long intern constitutes a significant component of her growth and experience during this period. At Camp Daniel, all staff members are dedicated missionaries to individuals with disabilities. Similar to many missionaries, Eva will be seeking to raise $1,000 in monthly financial support to cover expenses such as rent, food, transportation, and other essential needs. She humbly requests your consideration for financial support, whether it’s a contribution of $10, $20, $50, or $100 per month. Your generosity will play a pivotal role in enabling her to fulfill this meaningful mission.
