The past few years, I have had some amazing opportunities to partner with some amazing camps that helped me grow in my walk with the Lord and in my everyday life. From September 2021-April 2022, I took part in a Gap Year Program in northern Wisconsin. Through this Gap Year Program, I was able to visit Camp Daniel, an organization dedicated to providing people with disabilities opportunities for personal, social, and spiritual growth. While there, I learned how they run their camp, their reason for having this camp, and their desire to serve the Lord in the camp setting. I was also able to help finish some construction projects in order to be ready for the summer camps. Through this short visit with the team at Camp Daniel, the Lord really confirmed my desire to work with people with disabilities. 

This summer, I have the opportunity to be part of Camp Daniel’s summer internship program. As an intern at Camp Daniel, I will play a crucial part in the camp life and atmosphere. I will be part of everything from helping lead relationship building to training, facilitating, and running activities during the duration of the summer. One thing I am most excited about is the themed meals and entertainment put on by the interns. Some of our themed meals are Breakfast on the Farm, Christmas, pirates, and lots more. The most important thing the interns do is to love, encourage, support, and engage the volunteers and campers throughout the summer and at each activity.

 I ask for your support first through prayer. There are several things that you can be praying for as the summer approaches:

1.  That the Lord provides the volunteers needed for the summer to run smoothly.
2. That the Lord already be moving and working in the hearts of the volunteers, interns, professional staff, and campers.
3. That the Lord would strengthen the professional staff, interns, and volunteers for the long nights, hard conversations, and gospel opportunities.

Another means of support is through financial support. As an intern, I pay $800.00 to Camp Daniel for room and board. I will be trying to raise support for the $800.00 room and board fee by May 17th. If the Lord leads and enables you to help support me financially, there are a couple ways to do so. You may write a check made out to Camp Daniel with my name (Cord McLaurin) in the memo and mail it to W10541 Army Ln, Athelstane, WI 54104. You can support me financially online on this page. Camp Daniel is a non-profit organization so all donations are tax-deductible, and a receipt will be mailed to you for each donation.
